Generous with herself

Statement of fact; My sister, Diane has the biggest heart of anyone I know. It’s true.

She has a keenly sensitive empathy to those who are fortunate enough to be in her close circle.

Example; This past weekend, she and her charming husband Louis showed up at our door with armfuls of splendid food and wine. The makings for a gourmet dinner of pasta alfredo and treats on the side.

Diane proceeded to assemble and cook this fabulous meal for us, insisting on taking care of everything herself. Well, a wonderful meal it was. And… after the clean-up, she reveals the spa treatments she brought along.

We spent the next hour or so scrubbing, cleansing, and moisturizing…

Diane and Louis spent the night with us, and we shared a wonderful hearty breakfast.

Diane, thank you for taking your weekend to pamper me. You have a way of knowing when I need it.

WELCOME TO 365 Gratitude Project!

Gratitude: Noun; The quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.

Thank you. Two little words. A simple idea, not particularly new, or inventive, but put to use, powerful. In recent years, this term has taken on a whole new meaning for many people, being written about in self-help, law of attraction books that are presently on the bookshelves today.

The latest book to utilize this simple, but profound idea is "365 Thank Yous" written by John Kralik. In it, Mr. Kralik documents his experience in taking the noun gratitude, and transforming it into a verb through the simple process of writing one thank you note a day for an entire year, and in the process, he transformed his life. His simple act of daily gratitude expressed to those he loved and appreciated gave him a more joyful and loving life. This was the inspiration for our blog, 365 Gratitude.

We are a group of seven women, living in various regions of the United States, committed to the practice of gratitude in our lives in 2011. And, in doing so, to further share the experiences with each other, and you, through this blog. Each of us have claimed a single day of the week to send a thank you note to someone and write in this space about it. To learn more about each of us, see the about page to the right.

We encourage you, dear reader, to offer your own reflections on the role of gratitude in your life.
